Abstract:-In this work, we demonstrate the capability of locating mobile nodes with acceptable error bounds using tower identity codes which translate to lat-long using Google's MyLocation API. Further, we integrate this locationing service with google maps for easy visualization by less tech savvy user with proper error demarcation depending on an open field or congested areas in real time on mobile node itself. Full capabilicity can be downloaded as an app by any user and results could be verified. We believe that this capability can provide a cost-effective base to build next generation location based services for consumer purposes derived from existing tower infra. With more sophiscated filtering and state estimation, errors can be reduced drastically in the presence of mobility and hi-fidelity services could be used in military and strategic contexts.
